This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of what constitutes an ethical investigation. Participants will explore various ethical issues that arise during investigations, the distinctions between ethics and laws, and the commonalities that define ethical investigations. The course will also highlight what ethical investigations are not and the potential consequences of unethical practices. Additionally, we will guide you through “Performing Ethical Investigative Services,” covering how to conduct investigations ethically across different types of investigative services, including research, interviews, and surveillance.

  • Understand ethical issues and the differences between ethics and laws
  • Identify commonalities of ethical investigations and what they are not
  • Learn the consequences of unethical investigations
  • Conduct ethical research, interviews, and surveillance by following guidelines
  • Apply ethical practices across all services (reporting, protecting PII, and preserving evidence integrity)
